How Will I Be Notified About My Results?
If you chose to be notified about the results and we find any genetic variant associated with increased risk for Familial Hypercholesterolemia, Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome and Lynch Syndrome in your DNA, a coordinator from our partner Genome Medical will call you. They will remind you of the study and verify that you are still interested to hear about your results. They will set up an appointment/phone call with a Genome Medical genetic counselor who will inform you about the findings and The genetic counselor will suggest you contact your primary care provider to confirm your results and to create a further plan of action. Genome Medical will provide information for you to share with your primary care provider and family members.
What if I Don’t’ Have a Primary Care Provider or Health Insurance?
If you do not have primary care provider or health insurance, you will receive the full consultation from Genome Medical genetic counselor and you will be offered secondary testing to confirm your findings. When your results are the genetic counselor will suggest an action plan for you, provide information for your family members and refer you to a local primary care provider.

Will I Get Any More Results?
The Healthy Nevada Project researchers will continue to report on other hereditary risks and we will update the screening of your DNA as genomic medicine advances. Continue to check your emails regularly and if you have any concerns about your health, consult with your physician.
