We’re more than just a genetics study.
When you signed up for the Healthy Nevada Project you probably knew that it was a genetic study but did you know we focus on more aspects of health than just genetics?
At the Healthy Nevada Project, we work to combine different factors that can impact your health such as the environment, social habits, and healthcare access/usage. The best way to learn about social habits and behaviors is from each individual answering a survey, which we send out to every participant that consents.
The survey is voluntary and confidential, bound through a National Institute of Health (NIH) Certificate of Confidentiality, therefore no law enforcement or any other entity can gain access to the answers provided. This is done because honest answers provide the best insight into community health. We understand the fear of repercussions for certain questions about substance abuse.
The survey that is currently being sent out to all consenting participants focuses on different health determinants such as Adverse Childhood Events (ACE), which are known to have impacts of your future health.
As an incentive to complete the survey, you will be entered to win a prize, such as an IPhone, gift card, or similar prize to be disclosed at the time of survey distribution. All of the rules and regulations are included on the invitation email you will receive from firstname.lastname@example.org. The survey helps bridge the gap between the community’s genetic results and how social behavior plays into health and choices!
We look forward to answering any questions about the survey and being able to produce more ground-breaking insights into Nevada health!
